Dear Sergey, according to Abbatista et al. (Materials Chemistry and Physics,
21(1989)521-528 ) and cited there De Leeuw et al. ( Physica C,152(1988)39)
the compound Ba2Y2O5 could not be prepared from BaOand Y2O3 starting
materials. It appears only if BaCO3 or another carbon containing precursor
is used, then the autors expressed doubts about the presence of this oxide
phase. The real formula of this compound should be Ba2Y2O5.2CO2 - an
oxycarbonate.
