I agree with Dimitri that this is a great idea from Paolo, but also with Daniel since ILL now has only 150 beam days per year due to our re-building programme. Previously we did run a "rapid access" system on the ILL powder machines, but we stopped this along with "Director's Discretionary" beam time, and we also reduced internal beam time, in order to give as much as possible to the scheduled user programme. But I expect that my successor will revisit this question :-)
I also share Daniel's concerns about future access to the older machines, and I am sure that he would encourage ILL user's to respond to the ILL's invitation to comment on our proposed future policy, set out on: http://www.ill.fr/pages/science/review.html Alan. ___________________________________________________________ Dr Alan Hewat, ILL Grenoble, FRANCE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> fax (33) 4.76.20.76.48 (33) 4.76.20.72.13 (.26 Mme Guillermet) http://www.ill.fr/dif/AlanHewat.htm ___________________________________________________________
