dear all.
we have at Ecole Centrale Paris (sorry, CentraleSupélec now...) a D2 Phaser equipped with the XFlash detector, for powder diffraction and fluorescence, since february 2011.

Due to some problems with this detector, we had to change it 3 times, and the last version, with a better cooling system, seems to work correctly. I put an external screen (and keyboard and mouse) because of the low screen resolution on the main door. If you want to make it visible on our network, with your IP system different from the one proposed by Bruker, you have to put two IPs, one for the Linux system, another one for Windows Embedded. Except of the detector problem, the only problem I had with this D2 was the blocking of the flowmeter after three years, which was easy to solve (I replace the Bruker cooling liquid I found quite "fat", maybe the cause of blocking).

Otherwise, it's a good machine, very easy to use which is a good point if you have a lot of different users. Due to the XFlash detector, we can not record data below 6 degrees in 2 Theta.

As Nalini said, the fact that we can not see inside the machine (especially not using the internal screen...) is a bit frustrating... but the all-in-one concept is at that price.

Regards,
nicolas

    Dear All,

Sorry not a direct Rietveld question, but I hope somebody can help.
We are evaluating to get a D2 Phaser diffractometer. If somebody has
got this equipment and wish to share his experience with the
machine, infos are warmly welcome .
    Best regards Natale Perchiazzi
