The CIF powder diffraction dictionary, which defines data names for
describing powder diffraction experiments and results, has a new version
(2.5.0) ready for release. This is the version that will be covered in the
soon-to-be published second edition of International Tables for
Crystallography, Volume G. Of particular interest to members of this list
might be new data names for describing preferred orientation (March-Dollase
and spherical harmonics) and QPA. Contributions from members of this list
are gratefully acknowledged.

The release notes are available at
https://github.com/COMCIFS/cif_pd/wiki/Release-Notes-for-CIF-Powder-Dictionary-2.5.0,
and the dictionary itself can be perused at
https://github.com/COMCIFS/cif_pd/blob/master/cif_pd.dic.

Your feedback is welcome, preferably by raising an issue in the above
repository. I note that these definitions are freely available for reuse in
other data formalisation efforts (e.g. "<logical location> corresponds to
_pd_meas.rocking_angle").
