It seems the yaml changes are completely ignored. Looks to me the
resolution and FPS both are always set to the same thing, no matter what I
put in. I tried the 320x240 (lowest option in cheese) and it didn't seem to
change the way I got my own picture back in ring/video settings.

This setting file is for the QT5 front-end? I could try debugging in
QTCreator, otherwise you'd have to give me the linebreak info on where it
reads and applies the settings for commandline gdb.
