Hi all.

I'm currently thinking of writing some code to let me do what the rio program
does for the rio, on Philex's MPress3 hardware. I thought maybe somebody could
enlighten me some: I know nothing about windows programming. Nothing at all.
How do I capture parallel port data to analyse? (Is there a device driver or
something which you've written to do this?) And other hints perhaps, as time
goes on, will be useful, of course...

Once I get a basic communication working, and possibly some module to
integrate the player's memory into linux's vfs if I feel like delving - probably
the hardest thing, I'd guess - I do intend to write/extend some graphical
utility to automatically download a suitable length of mp3's to the player,
after selecting them randomly or by (ID3) keyword-search, which I'd like to be
one which works with other mp3 players as well: I understand there's no
cross-player graphical interface?

So anyway, those are my thoughts. I'd appreciate *ANY* help/advice, and
apologies for not lurking long on this list beforehand.
