I'm currently ripping my collection using EAC/AccurateRip. Like others,
my goal was to create files with data that mirrored the data on the CDs
as closely as possible. But I've found the usefulness of AccurateRip,
at least in my case, to be somewhat limited.

Aside from identifying the offset value of my particular drive so that
EAC could compensate for it, what I've found with at least 50-60% of my
rips, is that the CDs I'm ripping are not in AccurateRip's database.
Another 20-25% of my discs report as having been ripped inaccurately
with the disclaimer that my disc may be from a different pressing than
the one in the database. Some discs are reported as having some tracks
accurately ripped and others, not. I reripped a few of these discs and
got the same results, so I gave up on that futility. Only occasionally
do I rip a disc that AccurateRip reports as having been ripped with
100% accuracy.
