Thank you very much for the replies! The wiki is definately helpful. Question on ReplayGain. Assume you apply the ReplayGain metadata to the files. Does this application influence the files in such a way as to make them difficult to play with a player that does not recognize ReplayGain metadata? Will devices/servers that do not recognize ReplayGain metadata just ignore it?
The core of the question is that I am one of those dinosaurs running SS 5.4 so I can continue to use RealSlim (I know, heresy around these parts but...) I suppose I am little gunshy spending the effort re-ripping to FLAC and applying ReplayGain, which would be an awesome feature, if I will have compatibility issues down the road, whether I use SS or not.
