ReplayGain works well for me usually but it does not seem to account for bass well.
Some of my particularly bassy tracks have either mild attenuation of even slight amplification. For example, one bassy track has +0.02 dB track gain. That's *very* rare with modern music, most of my collection has -8 dB track gains or lower. Needless to say, that particular track is deafening. I should take a reading with my SPL meter, but it is definitely louder. Has anyone else found this? I suppose the question would best be asked at the HydrogenAudio forum, but their software won't let me register - it doesn't like my e-mail address. I also notice ReplayGain has never been updated. Surely someone is working on continual improvements? I don't believe it's "perfect" as it is - no human creation is, after all. Plus it definitely does not seem to work well for me with bassy tracks. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23502 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
