foobar seems to have its own database that remembers info about tracks
without reading info from the tracks.  You might see the RG data
disappear if you press "Reload info" as you view the properties of a
track.

But SlimServer needs the RG info stored in a tag, and that's usually in
an APEv2 tag for an MP3.  You can put put it back in using 'MP3Gain'
(http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/).  You can do an entire directory at
once.  Be sure to use the Track Analysis/Album Analysis button, not the
Gain button.  The Analysis button will merely analyze and write the RG
data, the Gain button will actually modify the volume of the file's
audio.
