I am about to re-rip my CD collection into single-file FLACs (1 CD = 1 flac file) with corresponding cue files. I have run a few tests and generally like the way the SlimServer works with them.
I am using the --replay-gain option to have flac add these tags to the file. The problem is that when I view the tracks in SlimServer, it doesn't show the replay gain value, nor does it appear use the value during playback on my SB3 (I have the "smart gain" option selected). Because I am ripping/encoding to a single file for the whole CD, I would expect that every track would have the same replay gain value (the "album gain" value), but this doesn't appear to be the case. In fact, it appears that SlimServer is ignoring the album gain tags entirely. Is anyone else successfully using replay gain with whold-CD flacs?
