Could be more than that.  A hard drive clicking generally means it's
about to die.

It's a thermal recalibration cycle and it's designed to compensate for
thermal expansion and contraction of the disc.  If the drive encounters
internal head alignment errors, that's one of the procedures it tries. 
If it tries it over and over again, it's encountering an alignment
error it can't correct.

Best get data off that disc ASAP while you still can, then run
scandisk, etc.

Note that link is directed towards IBM "Deathstar" 75GXP drives, but
other drives can have the same thing happen to them right before they
kick the bucket.
