If you really are going for the "best sound possible", you should re-rip your collection using EAC -> FLAC. It's a -little- confusing at first to get it set up, but after that it's pretty automatic, and there are quite a few tutorials out there to walk you through the process. Since your collection already exists in ALAC, you don't need to do it all at once ... just rip a few disks at a time when you have a spare moment. Y'know ... pop in a disk to rip while you cook dinner ... another in there as you run out to work in the morning ... before you know it, your collection is re-ripped with the best technology available today. EAC is the "paranoid" ripper ... it endeavors to make a bit-perfect copy, even if it takes hours to burn a single disk. (That's an extreme case of a damaged disk and a sub-par cd rom drive) But in the end, you'll end up with a file that is a perfect archival copy of your original source. -- jeffluckett ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jeffluckett's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28829 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
