seems like a pretty good reason to keep it closed for now.. maybe when that path heads downward Apple will consider squeezing some money from hardware vendors looking to support their well established army of personal and incompatible lossy music libraries. itunes drm is a sham. if you accidentally delete a song from your ipod and your local itunes - go ahead and try to download a new copy. what happens.. "hey according to our records you've already got that song - are you sure you want to be charged for it again? because we sure as hell won't let you download it for free just because you've already paid for it."
