Hey genius, please explain the difference between "file compare" (what
I said) and "compare the bits". I may be 7 years out of Nerdland, but
as I recall that's pretty much the same thing.

Of course the slim server developers didn't get anything. But the Slim
Devices private shareholders sure did. On the backs of Free Software
folks.  Brilliant, I must say.

Thanks oh so much for the anlytical insight and keen objective
reasoning. This is the kind of attitude that made it so easy to end up
having a bunch of Comp Sci Ph.D's working for a poor no-college
33-year-old. No business sense. No ability to detach from "ideals"
that have nothing to do with a company making earnings. Ahh yes, you
certainly take me back. Luckily I've obviously overstayed this
nerd-nest and will gladly depart. My family and I are on our way to
our place in Panama for a week before thanksgiving. E-mail me and I'll
give you info on how to charter a plane to the nearest island and I'll
sail over and pick you up and we can discuss it while on the top deck
catching the ocean breeze and sipping a cool one.

Keep those ideals alive boys! You've been a hoot. (Totally lacking in
any helpful information, but a hoot nonetheless, I almost felt like I
was on Fidonet for a while there.)

[164kb MP3 encoded library (wish FLAC had been around when I did most of
my ripping oh so long ago) -> PC -> 100 Mb network -> SB3 -> Denon 3805
(used mainly as a pre-amp / DSP) -> Speakercraft BB1265 running
whole-house audio, rack of assorted amps, mostly older Carvers or
Sunfires -> bi-amp'd Paradigm Reference Studio 100 V.3's, CC-570,
ADP-470's, and my own make of electrostatics (hence the rack of
Amps).]
