am slightly confused about the format that foobar uses to save
replaygain tags

the wiki suggests that foobar writes to APE tags, but having just tried
it on an mp3 file with no existing APE tag, it looks like it has written
the replaygain info to the ID3 tags, specifically to a "TXXX"
user-defined text frame tag

the wiki article also suggests that foobar writes to the RVAD tag, but
that didn't happen when i tried just now, although it is important to
note that i used a file with an ID3v2.4 tag and the RVAD tag only
existed in the earlier ID3v2.3 tag specification (i.e. it has been
dropped from the newer ID3v2.4 specification)

anyway, i am guessing that SlimServer supports replaygain info that is
either written in APE tags (which is what MP3Gain uses) or as "TXXX"
ID3 tags...

is that correct? and what would SlimServer do if it had to play a file
containing both sets of replaygain tags (i.e. APE and ID3's TXXX)?

one final question: i've only just started experimenting with foobar
and have not yet worked out how to see the volume level that it uses
for its replaygain changes. i know MP3Gain uses 89.0db, but what does
foobar use, and how can i view/edit that value?
