I've copied some 400 CD's as flac's using Windows EAC and I've used Foobar to calculate Replaygain values using the "Album" setting. I'm very pleased generally with the consistent volume that I get from album to album when I play Random tracks via my Squeezebox.
I'm finding a few albums that, for whatever reason, seem too loud compared to most other albums. I assume that I could manually adjust the Replaygain values using Foobar to correct this? Which value should I edit? Any suggestions on a starting point on how much to adjust to make an album play back quieter? 1db, 2db, 3db? I don't plan on making any albums play louder - just to make a few play quieter.
