I didn't have problems so much as I realized that I was moving into new territory using Perl and all that. I started to go that direction anyway. I first found that my dezip program couldn't handle the type of file the Perl program I downloaded consisted of. I found a program that would dezip it but it insisted on placing itself in my start up directory. I've been trying to purge that directory because my boot up time is so long. At that point I felt I was setting myself up for a long learning and debugging process. I've been working with computers since before the 286 processors and I have learned to estimate how long it should take, multiply that by 10, and then keep your fingers crossed. Worse than working on your house.
It is bad enough that I having to teach myself Visual Basic at work. I getting tired of all those hours trying to make things work. I just dumped my Squeezebox because once again I upgraded a program and it stopped working. Yes, I can fix it, but I can also run a USB cable to an M-Audio USB to SPDIF convertor and have a bulletproof (I hope) sound system. Call me a nerd suffering from battle fatique who just wants to listen to his music without hassles. -- regalma1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ regalma1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6658 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33151 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
