This is a problem with Windows filesystems, and your LinkStation probably uses one. It's a good idea to name your files using characters that work on the widest possible range of hardware (for NAS devices, MP3 players, DVD archiving, etc).
So, in general, avoid these characters: " * / : < > ? \ | You may also want to avoid leading and trailing periods in filenames (leading periods hide files on *NIX systems, trailing periods are ignored on Windows systems) Typically your ripping software will have options to avoid/substitute certain characters in filenames as it creates them. What ripping software do you use? I'm not sure what software to use to fix the already-created files. Maybe someone else has a suggestion? -- CatBus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CatBus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7461 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33205 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
