I used to have them all on shelves in my living room, but kept running out of space (over 1,000 albums). So i boxed them up in nice sturdy plastic storage boxes (http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/onlineshop/b18_0litre.htm) put them on a pallet, stapped them down with cargo straps and they now live on the top shelf of some racking in our warehouse at work :)
DVD boxes are there too, although the disks are still at home in large 240 disk wallets EDIT: meant to say: as well as having everything at home stored as FLAC, i have a 100gig Archos AV500 with an MP3 copy. In my car i can use the Aux input of my head unit. I also have a cassette adapter for and a radio transmitter thingy for other cars.
