does anyone use the COMMENT tag in their WMA files, and does SlimServer find and recognise it when you do a re-scan?
to test: i add a Comment to an MP3 file (using Mp3Tag), it is loaded into the SlimServer mySQL db, and shows up on the Squeezebox display, no problemmo. but, if i add a Comment to a WMA file it is ignored, the comments table in mySQL is bare. i have tried adding the comment in Windows Media Player and Mp3Tag, and both can recognise and read the tag created by the other app ... and as an innocent 3rd-party, dbPowerAmp finds the tag irrespective of what app added it. the comment tag also shows up in Windows Explorer. everything else, and all other tags are working fine. i had a look at the file header, only thing i noticed was that the comment seemed to be in a seperate, less structured block, away from the main WM style tags (track, album, composer etc). so another bit of quantum weirdness from WMA files, but like i say all the other apps i point at the files can read the Comment OK ... does anyone know if SlimServer scanner reads WMA Comment tags??? > SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 10701 - Windows Server 2003 - EN - cp1252 > Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread > MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt thanks, david -- davidC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ davidC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3861 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33659 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
