Hi Skunk, Thanks for your reply, I checked the files as suggested and they are flac. I have also binned flac front end which I installed from the setup wizard and the SB3 now plays the two CD's I have ripped so far after a "clear everything and rescan".
I now have the songs listed on slimserver, but with no artist and numbered in sequence with the albums superimposed on each other ie track 1 from the first album followed by track 1 of the second album etc?? How do you get the Albums/artist names listed separately. As far as sound quality the SB3 isn't bad, but my Meridian G08 CDP won't be put back in it's box and sold as there is a definite difference in the sound in the G08's favour. But you are comparing SB3 at £200 compared to £2500's worth of G08. I can understand the "mod" quest by many on this forum, but my goal isn't to spend a lot of money to maybe improve the SB3's sound quality to somewhere near the G08. I will have a listen to the transporter at some stage, maybe I can get hold of one second hand.
