There are apparently a LOT of variables involved in extracting digital
audio from a CD. I have 2 drives in the system I use for ripping. One
is a Plextor PX-230A and the other a Teac DVD drive. Either will do a
great job with almost all discs, however, once in a while I encounter a
disc that rips OK in one but not the other. So, whenever there's a
problem, I try re-ripping the erroneous tracks in the other drive.
That has worked all times but one. I have one disc with a radial crack
that will not read in either drive.
