For what it is worth, virtually everyone here at Logitech/Slim Devices
rips their CDs to FLAC, and most of us use EAC (though it isn't the
most intuitive application) and a few use dBPowerAmp.  

Since you're likely to be ripping to lossless to maximize quality, I
recommend using  AccurateRip, as well.  It compares your rip to other
rips of the same CD by other users and gives you a confidence factor in
the accuracy of your rip.
