Thanks. Installing lame got rid of the error message, but the streaming doesn't work. Winamp and videolan see the playlist since I can see the right song is selected. They act like something is being streamed, but I hear no audio. I see "welcome to slimsever" and the time being advanced. Videlan has the best monitoring stats. I can see the blocks of data accumulating in the "stream and media info" window.
