The difference is that <ALBUMARTIST> is a real tag used by most
software and <ALBUM ARTIST> is meaningless to most software. Don't use
<ALBUM ARTIST> at all unless you've got a reason. I don't know much
about ID3 tags, but TPE2 sounds like the best match.

SlimServer uses ALBUMARTIST in addition to ARTIST. It does not yet
support ALBUMARTISTSORT though.

ARTISTSORT determines sort order when there is no ALBUMARTIST tag, or
when the ALBUMARTIST of one album matches the ARTIST of another album
which has an ARTISTSORT tag defined.

I have the exact situation in my collection. Here's how I deal with
it. All ARTIST tags are set correctly. All ARTISTSORT tags are set to
"Monk, Thelonius". All ALBUMARTIST tags are set to "Thelonius Monk".
This works great IF you have one album where the ARTIST is simply
"Thelonius Monk". If you don't have that one vanilla album, you're
screwed as far as sorting is concerned, until ALBUMARTISTSORT is
supported.

feature!
