Don't use <ALBUM ARTIST> at all unless you've got a reason. I don't know much about ID3 tags, but TPE2 sounds like the best match.

All ARTIST tags are set correctly. All ARTISTSORT tags are set to "Monk, Thelonius". All ALBUMARTIST tags are set to "Thelonius Monk". This works great IF you have one album where the ARTIST is simply "Thelonius Monk". If you don't have that one vanilla album, you're screwed as far as sorting is concerned, until ALBUMARTISTSORT is supported.
