A few thoughts... Watch out for "ogg encoder x", many of them stretch the limits of the format and are incompatible with the Squeezebox's ogg decoder.
Also, and please don't take this the wrong way, but if sound quality is important why split hairs over encoder x versus encoder y? Why not go lossless and be done with it? I could see if you had a portable device, but otherwise, this comparison would never end - I'm sure someone else will tweak the ogg encoder and you'd have to compare against that too.
