More on this... First I completely uninstalled and re-installed slimserver.
Next I made a new music folder on a local disk and only copied a few artists with a few albums each into it, and changed slimserver to look at the new folder. After doing a "clear library and rescan everything" all of the old tag data remains! If I Browse "Music Folder" - then I only get the few albums that should really be there. ok. But if I browse artist or albums then all of the old artists and albums show up, even though they aren't in the new music folder. Has anyone else had a problem like this? It looks to me like this software just doesn't work.
