But also - Steve: yes, I used noise removal. On the default setting there's a marked decrease in sound quality during quiet passages, so I experimented a bit and turned the filter down to a degree where I couldn't detect any changes in the quiet passages. But I take you point though - I noticed a reduction in bitrate off the back of that, but even before that the bitrate seemed lower than I would have expected.
