How is your album art stored? Is it embedded in the files, or saved as a separate .jpg in the relevant folder? Are you trying to import art from Itunes? All these things may have an impact on why the art isn't showing up. Lots of info 'here' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/AlbumArtwork) about how to get it to work. I have always found it best to save each cover as a separate folder.jpg in the relevant music folder.
