Is there anyone who tried to play a 24bit 44.1khz Apple Lossless file on
an SB3? Here is my story:

1) I recorded a piece of music using Garageband software on my iMac in
the
format of 24bit 44.1khz. I then transfered the recording to iTunes,
resulting in a AIFF 24/44.1 file. Let's refer this file by "file-A".
SB3 plays file-A fine.
2) Using iTunes I converted it to a 24/44.1 Apple Lossless
file. Let's refer it by "file-B". iTune (and Quicktime) plays file-B
fine on my iMac. However, when I stream file-B to SB3 and tried to play

it, I got static noise.
3) Using iTunes I converted file-B back to AIFF format, resulting in a

16bit (iTunes automatically converted the file from 24bit to 16bit)
44.1khz file. Let's refer it by "file-C". SB3 plays file-C
without any problem.
4) Using iTunes I converted file-C to Apple Lossless format, a 16bit
44.1khz file. Let's refer it by file-D. Squeezebox plays file-D
perfectly fine.

So, I guess there is some compatibility issues between SB3 and 24 bit
Apple Lossless file. Anyone who has knowledge about this? SB3 tech
support told me that SB3 has no problem playing 24/44.1 files, and
tried to convince me that file-B was not properly converted. My
questions is that if file-B is bad, how come file-C and file-D work
well?

Your help is highly appreciated.
