My understanding is that there are three ways to use albumart: 1. Just put, eg cover.jpg in the folder for each album. SC will pick up the cover from a file there. Not compatible with other apps.
2. Embed the image within the file itself as a tag - each file is slightly bigger as a result. 3. Tag each music file with a link pointing to the cover.jpg in the same folder. To me, this option is the most preferable as it would be more efficient than placing the image in every audio file, and is also compatible with non SC apps (eg mediamonkey itself, for which option 1 would not work). I'm using flac files, and tried using Mediamonkey with the batch art finder script to automate the download of albumart images. But it seems that the script specifically disables the third option above for flac files (and ogg). Is there some fundamental reason for that? Mediamonkey itself seems to support both the tag and link method, and tagged files so created seem to be compatible with SC. It looks like the batch art finder script can be easily modified to acheive option 3 above (ie links), but is there some reason why that approach should not be followed for flac files? My concen here is that I will corrupt my entire flac library in some way. -- mortod ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mortod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54076 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
