I hear you, I run www.hybridized.org and have lots of DJ mixes + cue sheets too. I don't really want to split them either. :)
Splitting an mp3 gaplessly is a very tricky process, read this thread if you want the gory details: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=35654 Our plan for fixing it in SC involves sending the full file to the player and displaying 'virtual' tracks in the UI.
