I grew up in the 8-track era, where albums were split into 4 "tracks" and long songs were often faded out on 1 track and faded in on the next track. In my mind I can still hear the fadeout and the switching noise when I listen to some music from that era. OK now, making my digital files conform to this would be trivial. But wouldn't that be sort of INSANE, to purposely simulate a limitation where none exists?
