Neil (it is Neil isn't it?) I just used DBP to convert a Beach Boys FLAC Rip to HDCD (24-bit flac) - works perfectly. I have a feeling your problems are NOT with the FLAC files but something else in your setup. Can you explain your audio hardware chain? What OS are you using?
