IIRC the SB+ is mainly just an SB3 under the bonnet with respect to the file handling and decoding parts. It updates firwmware I think like any other SB after a server software update. It's also the digital o/p only feeding the G68 with spdif.
Re: analogue o/p....I've just played the same tracks via analogue from my stock SB3 into a portable box and they play fine (????) So - it's either the SB+ or the G68 input or G68 upsampling you'd think.... EH WHAT ??????....I just played again the same tracks via SB+ to G68 and they play fine ???? WTF is going on here ? I haven't changed anything (honestly !!) The only thing I didn't do just now is use the Softsqueeze. Does this somehow change the way the SQserver works ? Tracks still don't play with it but it is playing fine via the SB's. Does the server need to have done a re-scan to know it has 24bit files ? As I haven't done anything to fix this, I don't know if it's truly fixed yet.
