I'm not sure I have multiple ALBUMARTIST tags myself either (I can't tell until I get home), but it is a strong possibility for a small number of albums. eg. An album containing tracks by Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. I would declare that album with both artists as individual artists. If one song also has a guest performer (or maybe one track only by Brian Eno), there would be differing artists on songs on the album, so I would set the ALBUMARTIST to reflect the main artists on the album - Robert Fripp;Brian Eno. I could browse to Artist Robert Fripp and see the album listed, or I could browse to Brian Eno and see the album listed. If I Browse Albums and sort by Artist, if it uses the albums.contributor field, which can contain only one artist, it would show up sorted under only one of the artists (but denote both album artists). Thinking about it, that's probably the correct thing for SC to do. If browsing Artists > Robert Fripp, and sorting the page by artist, album, I wouldn't want the album appearing in the list twice (once for Brian Eno, and once for Robert Fripp). I guess it probably chooses to sort by the first album artist (albums.contributor the same as the first album artist contributor detected for the album). It is probably an unusual case that happens very infrequently. -- Philip Meyer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Philip Meyer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=95 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57594 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
