There are -some- feasible uses: For broadcasting, we have to make broadcast reports showing the artist, the title, from which album it came, the label, the label code, duration played, and so forth.
So I actually like the possibility to have the release date of the album (since we’re also [usually] not allowed to play something before its official release), but of course -also need- the original (first) release year, both for setting up shows like "70's Progressive Rock" (even if the title was on a 2007 compilation), and for personal music pleasure (using SC and my leisure chair). I guess all this shows two things: - We could probably live with an "album" release date like it is now if we -also- get a -track-based- (or actually song-based) "original date". - The "typical" end user would -in most cases- look for the "original" year, almost -never- for the release year of the album/compilation. -- Moonbase Moonbase: 'The Problem Solver' (http://www.kaufen-ist-toll.de/moonbase) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Moonbase's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21594 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59253 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
