Speaking from experience here - before you do this you should use the
same options page to specify to write only ID3v2.3 tags.  And before
you perform the delete command, save all tags.

This way ID3v2.3 tags are written, even if they were already there. 
But if they weren't there and were ID3v1 tags only, when you press the
delete icon all the tags get deleted!  You have one last option - Undo
- to get them back.
