welcome to a million arguments... i assume you have mp3s.
here's what i think you should do: assign the track artist to the artist field, TPE1. assign album artist data to TPE2. tell SC to treat TPE2 as album artist. this will give you a coherent experience across mainstream apps and SC. i don't use jriver or know squat about it, but i'm guessing it calls TPE2 "album artist" even tho thats incorrect by spec. also, i use winamp and make sure that winamp shows me ONLY the data in the tags, no guessing. i'd also consider learning mp3tag as it can help tricky files.
