i use EAC to rip and lame to compress. i use a CBR of 256, joint stereo, and i put:
-q 1 as an "extra" command line option. it is a quality of encoding setting, and the range is 0 to 10 with 0 being the best, but impossibly slow. i find 1 to be quick enough. also, lame writes a RG value into the lame header, not the id3 tags, and i don't think any normal program out there can even read lame headers, (or at least read and use the RG info in them). so its really up to you if you want it calculated and written or not. -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbr (parent's home) - w/sc 7.3.3b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=65603 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
