Hi, just being trying to work out a little problem I'm having. or really
just see if it's a non issue.
anyway, I've been ripping my music on my PC using DBPoweramp, then i
was setting the replay gain per track using foobar2000. and then finally
i was trying to use musicIP to add the music brainz tags to the files
before copying up onto my linux server. maybe this is a silly way to do
it but it seemed logical to me!
anyway, so when i add the replaygain value foobar changes the tags
id3v2.4 which musicIP then cant read and spends ages analysing the
tracks. so the obvious workaround is to use musicip prior to foobar.
however i would like some advise as to whether i should be sticking
with 2.4 tags when some other apps like media monkey won't read it or
should i be trying to get foobar to write the tags as 2.3 (which i
haven't figured out)

on a side note, what media player is good to usefor playing ones music
collection on the pc when the files are on a server. i've been using
softsqueeze and sometimes mediamonkey...

cheers
