The DTS and/or AC3 tracks are not MLP encoded; they play on any DVD player whether it is DVD-A capable or not which is the whole point of including them on the disc. Those tracks can be ripped using something like DVD Audio Extractor and played back through an SB digitally connected to a surround processor in DTS/AC3 mode. The hi-res audio that is DVD-A -is- MLP encoded and AFAIK cannot be ripped by the usual ripping software, if at all. It can not be played without a dedicated player that can decode MLP, ie, a DVD-A player. That's the whole point of the encryption. -- Mick Seymour ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mick Seymour's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21137 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68176 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
