Yes of course you can open a bug report/feature request (if you register
in bugzilla). I will vote for that request if you do (or file such
request myself).

Recently I wrote the following in an old thread about displaying year
for individual

Is the current logic for mp3 files working to your satisfaction and, in
that case, how have you tagged your files?

Are you experiencing the behaviour I report in the second paragraph in
the quote?
