I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for the question. If not,
please advise and I'll move it.

I have two Squeezebox v3 units that I really like. I have a fairly
large Jazz and Classical CD collection that I've moved over to a Netgear
ReadyNAS Duo and encoded as FLAC. Everything works super.

The other day I downloaded a trial file from an audio HD website to see
how it would do on my setup. The file played fine through my Audigy 4 on
this PC, however, when I tried to play it through either Squeezebox I
got the message that the bitrate was too high and the units could not
handle it.

So the question I have is just how high a bitrate can the Squeezebox
handle? And would it really make a difference anyway? My speakers in my
listening room are large Klipsch Horn type speakers, so maybe with them
I might hear the difference, but the other unit is in our bedroom and
plays through a Bose Radio system (AUX input).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated if for no other reason than
clarification.

Thank you very much for any input. I always learn from the
contributions on this forum!
