I did install the Squeeze Center on this PC and it can play the file
just fine. Also, if the ReadyNAS is treated as a network drive the
Squeeze Center on the PC can play it from there as well. 

This brings up the question of fidelity. I gather from your note that
the Squeeze Center down-samples the data so that it can be played on the
Squeezebox. If that's the case, then there really is no benefit using
very high quality data files as they are essentially degraded
anyway....Do I have that right? Just wondering.
