Actually, having re-read your post you're going to make a mess of your
SBS library doing it this way! Album artist isn't a good place to
store guest artists.

Try tagging your files as per the attached "example" jpeg (I'm using
mp3tag but you'll get the idea).

Note track 7 has "Beastie Boys; Q-Tip" in the artist field, and all
tracks have "Beastie Boys" as album artist. This means the album sorts
under Beastie Boys, but will _also_ show up under artist="Q-Tip" if
you've got albums by Q-Tip in your collection. It won't create an
entry for Q-tip in your artist field if this is the only Q-Tip track
you've got.

To make it work you'll need to go SBS Settings > Separator for Multiple
Items in Tags and enter ";" without the quotes. It'll rescan your
library.

Means you have to live with seeing a ; in the artist field in iTunes.

Stop SBS and backup your music files and SBS dirs first; then you can
easily roll-back if you need to.

I've attached a screenshot of my SBS settings which means my music
displays and sorts the same in both SBS and iTunes.
