It's not the file format, it's the tools available that support the file format. I simply couldn't find a tool that did as good a job of getting tags and album art for FLAC, as Windows Media Player does for WMA. While a transcoder may preserve the tags for CDs I've already ripped, that won't help me for CDs I've yet to buy.
