You should really give Max or XLD a try before making your ultimate decision. Max will allow you to convert to FLAC and mp3 or ALAC or various other formats to meet your needs. If your wma files are sufficiently tagged, those will copy along with the conversion. I've used Max and XLD for several years to convert as well as rip new CDs and I haven't had any real issues with the tags or artwork. I manage two audio libraries (FLAC and ALAC) so that i can use ALAC for iTunes on my Mac and FLAC on a readynas running squeezecenter.
