I'd just like to echo what Echo said about MediaMonkey. :-) In addition to the points already mentioned, I also use it for managing Podcast subscriptions and syncing them to my iPod. I keep my Podcasts outside of my Squeezebox music library.
When I sync FLAC music files to my iPod, Mediamonkey encodes them to MP3 on the fly.
